Get to know me
Hi, I’m Kaylie! — the face and heart behind Kaylie Johnson Photography. My photography journey began in 2019, right before the world hit pause. I had always loved capturing moments on my phone, but that year I decided to invest in my first real camera. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a lifelong passion. By 2021, I launched my photography business part-time, and by mid-2024, I was living my dream — pursuing photography full-time and turning passion into purpose.
Photography, for me, is about connection. I believe the best images come from genuine moments — laughter that’s real, emotions that run deep, and memories that last a lifetime. My goal is to create a relaxed, enjoyable experience that allows your true story to shine through every photo. Whether it’s a wedding, family session, or lifestyle shoot, I want you to look back and feel every moment all over again.
I couldn’t do any of this without my biggest supporter, my husband, Eric. If he’s not capturing a second perspective with me during a wedding or session, he’s at home being the best dad to our son, Van. Eric has a love for anything with an engine (and I mean anything). He’s talented, easygoing, and his warmth is something people instantly feel — qualities that make him such a big part of our little photography team.
A little about me beyond the camera: I’m a faith-driven, down-to-earth Southern girl who loves a good DIY project, home renovation, and all things outdoors. I’m not afraid to get a little muddy for the perfect shot, and yes — I’ll have the bug spray ready for your session! When I’m not behind the lens, you can probably find me kayaking after a good rain, riding trails on my ATV, or blasting music that fits the mood (from classic rock to rap — no judgment here!).
At the heart of it all, I love capturing real people, real stories, and real emotion. I’m honored every time someone trusts me to preserve their memories, and I can’t wait to tell your story next

"The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do."
